Greetings family! It has been a couple of weeks since our last Sunday Review. We post the Wonder Woman review last week and didn't want a comic review getting lost in the shuffle. So here's a fun one for you... Ash vs The Army of Darkness! STORY I remember seeing The Army of Darkness when I was a kid. It was creepy, funny, and really weird. I loved it. So this book caught my eye. I've been recently binging Ash vs Evil Dead on Starz, so the timing of this book was perfect for me. Its re a great jumping on point if you are a novice to AOD. The book kicks off with a brief retelling of the past 25 years for the Chosen One. From the happenings in The Evil Dead, to his time traveling in Army of Darkness to present day when he finds himself back in S-Mart right after blowing away a customer turned Deadite. We catch up with Ash sitting in the Human Resources office being handed a two week severance check and a boot out the door. Poor guy, been working there since he was a kid. Our hero eel heads home and crashes in front of his TV while sprawled out in his recliner. He is awoken by a knocking at the door. Of course, there's an attractive young lady waiting for him. She needs his help... they always do. She's the vice principal at Alan Shepard High School. That lady at the S-Mart that Ash blew away, was the librarian there. Apparently, Deadites have been taking over the school. There were great panels of teachers eating the heads off of frogs, and students attacking each other. So, now, she needs Ash to help figure out what's going on. He wasn't interested until she offered him a job... as a teacher. Groovy. TAKEAWAY

Wonder Woman is finally here! Last night the wife and I went to see it for a little date night. Let me just say... the hype is real. Now, here is our spoiler free review of Wonder Woman! STORY
Where to even begin? I am sure most can guess the basic plot of the movie, unless you have watched ZERO trailers. Diana grows up on Themyscira, is trained, Steve Trevor crashes there, she heads back with him to help stop the war by defeating a big bad... and so on. The first act was great. Themyscira and the Amazons were set up very well. You learn how they came to be, see a lot of the island, and find out what their purpose is in this world. It is funny that they all have the same accent as Gal though. I guess she doesn't have much range in that department. There is even some great battles in the first first act to see the Amazons do what they do best. Chris Pine was great as Steve Trevor. Seeing him try to understand the Amazons, Diana, and how he interacted with them brought some great comedy. Also, Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) kicks some major butt as General Antiope! She's come a long way from being Princess Buttercup. The second act was Diana heading back with Steve, recruiting a team and running into some battles along the way. No spoilers here, but this is where we see Wonder Woman enter No Mans Land (you've seen it a few times in the trailers). This was the one part of the movie that really put me in the feels. This is where you see her in all of her Wonder Woman glory. She sees injustice, people suffering, and cannot stand by and do nothing about it. So, she will go where no man will to stop it. As a father of a daughter, I couldn't help but think of my little girl. Seeing Wonder Woman in that scene made me think of the first time I saw Christopher Reeve fly. It got me misty to think that she will have that same experience when she gets to see this scene one day and a hero she can identify with. The third act was not quite as strong as the first two, but still great. Things had to be resolved pretty quickly if they didn't want to have a 3 hour movie on their hands. So, of course the movie ends with a big CGI battle at night, much like BvS and Suicide Squad. You could definitely feel Zack Snyder's influence at the end. If you are a follower of the comics, there were a few surprises in the final act that will catch you off guard, but will love! TAKEAWAY
